Who We Are

Trestadow is an independent charitable organisation (CIO) focused on understanding how people experience health, care and community services and support in their everyday lives.

We exist to bring together lived experience and evidence, creating insight that helps organisations reflect, learn and improve.

Why We Exist

Across health, care and community services, there is often a gap between what is intended and what people actually experience.

Trestadow was created to help bridge that gap.

We focus on:

  • Listening to people’s real experiences
  • Understanding what those experiences mean
  • Sharing insight in a way that supports learning and improvement

Who We Are

Trestadow is led by a small group of voluntary trustees:

• Debbie Gilbert
• Dr Keith Judkins
• Richard Williams
• Chairperson: Dr Christine Hunter

Our History

Trestadow has been established as an independent charity, created by the Board of Healthwatch Cornwall in response to a recognised gap between gathering people’s experiences and ensuring those insights meaningfully influence decisions and outcomes.

Through this work, it became increasingly clear that while insight is often collected, it is not always used in a way that leads to tangible change.

Trestadow has been created to address this, building on that experience while establishing a distinct and independent role focused on what happens after people share their experiences.

While its origins are rooted in this background, Trestadow operates independently in its role and purpose, ensuring that lived experience is not only heard, but understood, valued, and used to shape decisions in a meaningful and accountable way.

Looking Ahead

Trestadow is ready to begin delivering insight-led work.

Our focus is on working with partners who value independent thinking, lived experience and evidence-led understanding and who are committed to learning and improving.

We are actively exploring opportunities to apply our approach across a range of health, care and community projects, building a body of work that reflects both credibility and impact.
